At least 7 drug suspects killed as PNP raids Manila Islamic Center

At least 7 drug suspects have been killed in an ongoing anti-drug operation being conducted by police at the Manila Islamic Center in Carlos Palanca Street, San Miguel, Quiapo, Manila.

Aside from the fatalities, 2 men who were unconscious, have been brought to a nearby hospital.

At least 2 jeepney-loads of people, considered ‘persons of interest,’ have been apprehended for investigation.

The operation is being done by Manila Police District Stations 3 and 8 along with a team from the PNP Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and PNP National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

PNP NCR Chief Oscar Albayalde says, this is only the second time the Manila Islamic Center is being subjected to a police operation.

He recalls, the last time police entered the compound was during the time of Former President Ferdinand Marcos.

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada is expected to arrive in the area within the day.
