PCCI promises to back Duterte’s fight against ‘endo’

Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) President George Barcelon has pledged that their organization’s member-companies will only hire subcontractors who put their employees on regular status.

This he said in a press conference in Malacañang with Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella.

PCCI is the country’s largest business group.

President Rodrigo Duterte previously told businessmen to stop the practice of ‘endo’ or ‘end of contract,’ which denies workers of regular employment.

'Endo' involves the hiring employees for a period of less than 6 months to bypass the law that mandates their regularization after they have worked for over half a year.
