The Senate Committee on Justice continues its hearing on the alleged extrajudicial killings.

Retired Police Supt. Dionisio Abude was the first witness to testify.

Abude said he was hired in 2006 by Sara Duterte as consultant for Davao City's Civil Security Unit.

Senator Leila De Lima was the first to ask questions.

Abude confirmed De Lima’s information that he was charged by the Ombudsman along with 20 others for supposedly failing to solve the ‘unabated killings’ in Davao.

He was fined and he paid with one-month’s worth of salary.

PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa is the second resource person facing the senators.

He is answering questions from Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on extrajudicial killings and command responsibility.

Also present in the Senate on Monday morning are law enforcers being linked to the so-called Davao Death Squad.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao Chief Manuel Gaerlan is also attending the inquiry.
