CA upholds Visaya’s appointment as AFP Chief of Staff

The appointment of Armed Forces Chief of Staff (AFP) Lt. Gen. Ricardo Visaya has been confirmed by the Commission on Appointments (CA).

The CA has also upheld the promotion of 24 other military officials.

The motion for the confirmations was unanimously approved by lawmakers.

Visaya told reporters that his number one goal is to crush the Abu Sayyaf.

He says, soldiers have been relentlessly pursuing the bandits in Tawi-Tawi, Basilan and Sulu.
