SC extends status quo ante order on Marcos burial

The planned burial of Former President Ferdinand Marcos on September 18, 2016 at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City will not push through.

This comes, after the Supreme Court extended the status quo ante order (SQAO) that stops the preparations for the burial until October 18, 2016.

The first SQAO was issued by the High Tribunal on August 23 and it was supposed to be in effect for 20 days or until September 12, 2016.

The Supreme Court ordered the extension of the SQAO on Wednesday afternoon, after the second round of the Oral Arguments on the 6 petitions questioning the planned burial of Marcos at the Heroes' Cemetery.
