Mayor Sara Duterte asks public to stay calm

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte is appealing to fellow Filipinos to avoid spreading misinformation that will only agitate the public.

Mayor Duterte says, “stay calm and collected.”

At the same time, she also admits, "there is an ongoing threat" to the city's security.

She notes, there are some persons who are posting on social media the 'areas' where more explosions will allegedly occur.

She advises people to “use common sense” in dealing with rumors.

Based on Mayor Duterte’s update, the number of fatalities in the blast in Davao City on Friday night stands at 14.

She says, the PNP’s record of wounded victims is 67, while their own tally in Davao City Hall is currently at 66.

She has instructed her office to check if there are victims that remain unaccounted for.
