The Supreme Court (SC) is conducting the first oral arguments for the 6 petitions against the burial of Former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
The justices are subjecting the petitioners to interpellations.
Some of their initial questions to the petitioners were related to the constitutional provisions pertinent to the transfer of the remains of Marcos from Batac, Ilocos Norte.
Those who presented arguments before the High Tribunal on Wednesday morning were Albay Representative Edcel Lagman representing the so-called ‘desaparecidos,’ Attorney Barry Gutierrez who spoke on behalf of Former Human Rights Commission Chairperson Etta Rosales, lawyer Ephraim Cortez and Former Bayan Muna Party-list Representative Neri Colmenares.
