House begins budget hearings

The House of Representatives begins the hearings for the 2017 proposed national budget.

Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno is presenting the proposed budget worth P 3.35-trillion to lawmakers.

House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Karlo Nograles is presiding over the proceeding.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) reports, the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased to 7% during the second quarter of this year, up from 6.8% during the first quarter.
