Sandiganbayan has sentenced to 7 to 10 years of imprisonment some former and current officials of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

This comes after the anti-graft court found guilty of graft current PSC Deputy Executive Director Cesar Pradas and former PSC executives Simeon Gabriel Rivera, Marilou Cantancio and Eduardo Clariza.

The case involves the purchase of P2.3-million worth of sports equipment without public bidding, for the Philippine cycling team that joined the 2007 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

The equipment were found to be overpriced by P 671,200.

The conviction was handed down based on the charges filed by the Ombudsman.
