AC Mobility-led BYD Cars Philippines has been further electrifying the nation this year after receiving significant recognitions from the local automotive press, as well as establishing a solid expansion strategy which is still ongoing. The company has already inaugurated nine new dealerships across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the first four months of the year, as part of a larger initiative to establish a robust nationwide network. BYD has confirmed a total of 77 dealership locations to be operational by the end of 2025, with an additional three locations breaking ground in the initial months of this year.
“We are excited to see the continued growth of BYD in the Philippines as it expands its presence across the nation,” stated Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “Both ACMobility and BYD are committed to empowering Filipinos by providing access to innovative transportation solutions that support a sustainable, forward-thinking future.”
The lion’s share of the initial expansion has focused on Metro Manila and Southern Luzon, with six new dealerships opening their doors. Notably, BYD Manila Bay, managed by ACMobility’s retail arm, Iconic Dealership, Incorporated, stands as the largest BYD showroom and service center in the Philippines. Located in Aseana City, Parañaque, this sprawling 3,000-square-meter facility boasts two display floors capable of showcasing 18 EVs, along with 11 service bays and both AC and DC fast chargers available to BYD customers and the public.
BYD Batangas, under Harmony Auto Philippines, also commenced operations, marking their fourth BYD facility alongside their existing showrooms in Global City, Commonwealth, and Fairview. This new dealership in Batangas City has generated over 60 local job opportunities. Similarly, BYD Chinatown made history as the first-ever car dealership in the heart of Binondo, featuring BYD’s latest global design standards, seven display vehicles, 10 service bays, and multiple charging options. Completing the Metro Manila and Southern Luzon expansion is BYD Alabang, a two-story, 1,811.89 sqm facility in Muntinlupa offering sales, after-sales, and parts services.
BYD’s expansion extends beyond Luzon, with key dealerships opening in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. BYD Iloilo, managed by Central EV Incorporated, became the city’s first dedicated electric vehicle brand dealership, featuring a nine-car display and multiple charging solutions. Prior to this, BYD Negros Occidental in Talisay City opened its expansive 4,000-square-meter facility, complete with nine service bays and a solar power installation. In Mindanao, BYD Cagayan de Oro, managed by Magnet Motors Corporation, now caters to the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles in the region with its comprehensive facility.
Furthermore, BYD broke ground on new dealerships in Baliwag, Carmona, and Dasmarinas in February 2025. These developments follow the groundbreaking of the BYD Nueva Ecija dealership at the end of 2024 and a significant partnership with SEAelectric Philippines Inc. (an affiliate of SEAOIL Philippines) that will see the introduction of NEVs in La Union.
Local Recognition Fuels Momentum
The rapid dealership expansion is complemented by significant recognition from the Philippine motoring press. BYD has garnered numerous accolades for its vehicles and the brand itself, including Top Gear Philippines’ “Breakout Brand of the Year” for 2024. The BYD Sealion 6 DM-i has been a standout, earning “Car of the Year” and “Best Hybrid Car” awards from AutoIndustriya.com, along with top rankings from other prominent motoring publications. The BYD Seal 5 DM-i, BYD Han, BYD Atto 3, and BYD Seagull have also received significant praise and awards in their respective categories.
“BYD has made significant strides in the local market,” commented Aiffy Liu, Country Head of BYD Philippines. “Our recognition from Philippine media highlights our commitment to innovation and sustainable energy, reflecting Filipinos’ trust in us as a reliable, forward-thinking brand.”
