Groundbreaking Dual-Mode Off-Road (DMO) Technology highlights newly launched BYD Shark Pickup

Poised to challenge the staples, BYD Cars Philippines, under ACMobility, has officially launched the highly anticipated Shark 6 DMO. With its advanced Dual Mode Off-road (DMO) technology, the Shark 6 DMO promises a blend of power, efficiency, and versatility previously unseen in the local pickup segment.

The Shark 6 DMO, available in Advanced and Premium variants, boasts a 29.6kWh BYD Blade battery and a 1.5T onboard generator, delivering a combined output of 435 PS and 650 Nm of torque. This powerful combination allows the truck to seamlessly switch between electric and fuel power modes, adapting to diverse driving conditions.

At the heart of the Shark 6 DMO lies its DMO technology, enabling exceptional performance and efficiency. Dual electric motors and all-wheel drive provide enhanced traction and stability, making it suitable for both urban commutes and challenging off-road adventures. “At BYD, we are dedicated to driving the future of mobility in the Philippines,” said Aiffy Liu, Country Head of BYD Philippines. “The Shark 6 DMO is just the beginning of an exciting year as we continue to introduce groundbreaking products.”

The Shark 6 DMO strikes a balance between rugged capability and modern sophistication. Built on the Cell-to-Chassis framework, it utilizes the Blade Battery as an integral part of the vehicle’s structure, enhancing rigidity and safety. 

Features include a commanding front grille, LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels. With 230 mm ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, the Shark 6 DMO is designed to tackle various terrains. It also boasts an 835 kg payload capacity and a 2,500 kg towing capacity. 

Inside, the cabin features leather seats with orange highlights, a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Comfort is prioritized with features like 6-way power-adjustable driver seats and seat heating/ventilation in the Premium model. 

The Shark 6 DMO is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including a 360-degree view camera, front and rear sensors, and vehicle dynamic control. The Premium variant adds adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot detection. 

It is priced at Php 2,098,000 for the Advanced variant and Php 2,298,000 for the Premium variant. First-time BYD customers can avail of a Php 50,000 discount, while existing BYD owners and referred customers can receive up to Php 100,000 off.

The vehicle comes with extensive warranty coverage, including an 8-year/160,000 km warranty for the Blade battery.
