The country’s diesel authority Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) solidified their dominance in the domestic truck industry with the recent inauguration of its massive truck facility. Held early this week at a newly constructed wing of Isuzu Manila, the truck service and repair center was built to accommodate medium to heavy truck customers.

“The Philippines’ robust economy presents both new opportunities and challenges for the business community, and the transport sector is not excluded from this position. With the opening of a new dedicated service center for large commercial-use vehicles in Isuzu Manila, Isuzu Philippines Corporation is ensuring that companies involved in transporting goods and services have immediate and convenient access to highly qualified facilities, putting their respective businesses at an advantage,” IPC President Hajime Koso said.

The service facility was designed for general repair and maintenance of medium to heavy trucks.

Strategically located at the heart of the automotive row in Otis, Manila, Isuzu’s truck service shop is specifically designed to accommodate Isuzu F-Series, C-Series and E-Series truck models. The introduction of the new facility is a proactive response by IPC to present its clients the option of having their medium- and heavy-duty truck models repaired and maintained at a dedicated service center. Previously, servicing of these types of trucks had to be conducted at clients’ respective premises.

Joseph Bautista, IPC’s Product Development head also revealed that the service facility keeps in stock an inventory of parts and components for Isuzu medium- and heavy-duty trucks, a move that would cut the possible downtime caused by delays in the delivery of required parts to customers. Other Isuzu dealerships only stock Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) parts for these truck models. The additional service facilities at Isuzu Manila include a comprehensive parts stock bay, as well as a new customer lounge.

Isuzu’s large commercial vehicles have seen tremendous growth figures in the first half of 2016. Deliveries of Isuzu heavy-duty Category V trucks led IPC’s model range for the same period by logging an unparalleled 833.3-percent spike. The record is aided by the increases achieved by Isuzu’s Category IV buses, which grew 25 percent, and Category IV trucks, which posted a 16.6-percent rise in sales. Combined, sales of IPC’s commercial trucks and buses in the first six months of the year have totaled to 2,703 units, a 36.7-percent surge from the 1,977-unit tally for the same months in 2015.
