Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that joined the Manila StrEAT Food Festival created some 200 jobs and generated over P2.71 million in earnings, Mayor Isko Moreno reported.

“’Yun pong inilunsad nating bagong paraan na makapaghanap buhay ang mga kababayan natin at magkaroon ng trabaho, itong StrEAT Food Festival na ginawa sa Mehan Garden ay umabot ng P2.714 million ang earnings at nakapag-create ng 200 jobs,” he said during the Capital Report.

Creating jobs has been among the key issues at the center of Moreno’s pandemic response. The Manila Mayor has been pushing for a speedy and extensive vaccination program to allow businesses in the city to reopen and stimulate consumer spending.

After the Manila StrEAT Food Festival, the local government has organized the “Paskuhan sa Maynila,” to again small businesses in the city.

Moreno is aiming to bring normalcy back to Manila by the year-end. In this light, the city government continues its vacination drive even as it surpassed the 1.35-million target of the health department by more than 30,000.
