Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. will likely secure a win in the upcoming 2022 elections based on the results of an online survey.

The survey, conducted by the Manila Bulletin, showed that Marcos and Vice President Leni Robredo are neck and the neck in the online polls.

The Manila Bulletin survey, conducted over Facebook also showed Marcos edging Metro Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

According to the data as of Tuesday morning, Marcos captured 655,000 “heart” emojis, followed by Robredo with 216,000 “care” emojis and Moreno in third place with 33,000 “likes.”

The Facebook survey garnered 800,000 reactions from netizens where respondents had to click on the assigned emoji for their favorite candidate.

The Manila Bulletin also conducted a simultaneous survey on Twitter and on its official website where Robredo slightly outscored Marcos. But respondents on such platforms were reportedly much smaller compared to those who participated in the Facebook survey.

Only 10,500 respondents were registered on the Manila Bulletin’s official website and 43,300 on its official Twitter account, compared to 839,000 respondents who participated in the Facebook survey.

The Manila Bulletin further said that it would not close the online survey, saying the paper is doing it to gauge the sentiments of readers. The paper said it will conduct the said survey every month.

Online media outfit Rappler also conducted a similar survey on Facebook but deleted the post after receiving complaints from netizens who questioned the surveys.

Marcos meanwhile appealed to supporters on Monday to end the hate campaign against Rappler. He said Rappler should be given another chance to find sincerity in their hearts.
