Settlement of hope

Some 120 families rendered homeless by the Marawi siege in 2017 recently got houses they can call their own, through the Marawi Shelter Project.

Settlement of hope

The home-partners received their certificates of house and lot award during a turnover ceremony of the Darussalam Village in Barangay Dulay Proper, the second phase of the project. Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) president Atty. Arnolfo Ricardo Cabling joined Task Force Bangon Marawi chairperson Sec. Eduardo del Rosario in the event (Shown in photo), which took place five months after the first batch consisting of 109 home-partners, transferred to the Hadiya Village (Marawi Shelter Project Phase I) in Barangay Dulay West. Through funding from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and the Japan government, a total of P386.66 million has been allocated to SHFC to implement the project.

Beneficiaries of the Darussalam Village are internally displaced families living along the three-meter easement of the Lake Lanao and Agus River. Marawi Shelter Project Phase III in Barangay Patani is currently being built to house a total of 438 families.
