This year's virtual NRCE organized by the Philippine Retailers Association and slated on August 12 to 13 will see the prime movers and players in the Philippine retail industry meeting with experts as they find fresh ideas in repurposing the malls and thinking of strategic ways to entice consumers to shop at the brick-and-mortar stores.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdowns greatly affected the retail sector, with the malls forced to close and only essential stores were open and minimal interactions were allowed.

"But now that vaccines have been rolled out and the economy is slowly reopening, the shopping malls are now open to provide services to cater to the needs of consumers. However, given the circumstance that we went through, customers now more than ever are careful, meticulous, and health-conscious, thus, affecting their shopping behavior," PRA president Rosemarie Bosch Ong noted.

Therefore, on August 12, catch SM Supermalls Vice President for Corporate Strategy Gino Borromeo at the 27th National Retail Conference and Stores Asia Expo (NRCE) as he reveals a dynamic and progressive session on “Reimagining the Mall of the Future.”
