Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is one of the choices being considered by the Filipino voters to succeed President Rodrigo Duterte when the latter bows out of office on June 30, 2022.

This public preference came after Marcos remained one of the top presidential bets as shown by Pulse Asia’s latest survey.

The survey conducted from June 7 to 16 showed Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte – Carpio taking up the number one slot in the list, with 32 percentage points.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno placed second with 29 percent.

Marcos got the third spot after the respondents gave him 18 percentage points.

Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao, on the other hand, was in fourth place with a 13 percent score.

The survey appears to be important, a political analyst said, since the names of Duterte – Carpio, Moreno and Pacquiao are “hot items” every day in the media.

Marcos, on the other hand, got hit by the media only on matters connected with his electoral protest against the supposed highly irregular victory of Robredo, the analyst said.

“Marcos has no government position,” the source said, adding that Marcos consistently placed either on the second or third place in all the presidential surveys that started last December, 2020.
