Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar recently announced that the Estrella – Pantaleon Bridge Project already entered the wrap-up stage with the substructure and superstructure already completed.
The expanded Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge, also known as the Rockwell Bridge (shown in photo), is on track for its 2021 completion, with the concrete pouring of the bridge deck slab happening last week.
The closure pour was witnessed by undersecretary Emil K. Sadain together with DPWH-UPMO roads management cluster 1 project managers Benjamin Bautista and Melchor Kabiling.
The project across Pasig River will help decongest EDSA traffic and will accommodate around 50,000 vehicles per day.
The bridge project connecting Estrella Street in Makati City and Barangka Drive in Mandaluyong City is one of the two grant bridges from the People’s Republic China being implemented by DPWH-UPMO roads management cluster 1.
