First Philec Inc. announced Monday it will launch in the market this year a super green transformer model to be made from 100 percent recyclable and biodegradable materials as part of the Lopez Group’s moves towards a decarbonized and regenerative future.

“The new First Philec transformer model will not only allow our customers to reduce their carbon footprint, but it will offer the highest efficiency in its class and extended product life and use. These advantages will also help our customers save on their electricity expenses,” Ariel Ong, First Philec president, said in a statement.

Transformers are designed to help improve the safety and efficiency of power systems through their ability to adjust voltage levels as needed by the power systems. Transformers are made mostly from metals, as well as non-metallic components, like insulating coolants.

“All metallic parts of our upcoming transformer model are recyclable; while all its non-metallic components will be biodegradable or recyclable,” Ong said.
