The Third Party Bids and Awards Committee of Manila Electric Co. issued the notices of award to two companies controlled by San Miguel Corp. for the 20-year supply of 1,800 megawatts of capacity.
Meralco TBAC committee secretariat and head of utility economics department Lawrence Fernandez said the committee completed the post-qualification evaluation on Friday and resolved to issue notices of award to Excellent Energy Resources Inc. and Masinloc Power Partners Co. Ltd. as the two best bids.
“The TPBAC requested both to coordinate with Meralco for the signing and execution of their respective power supply agreements and for the preparation of the applications that will be filed with the Energy Regulatory Commission,” Fernandez said.
The move followed the successful competitive selection process for Meralco’s power supply.
TPBAC earlier announced that EERI and MPPCL were the “two best bids.”
