Bacon, lettuce, and tomato? No! But what is affirmative is a fresh take on the time and tested love triangle formula, with a pink twist of course.
Three young men named Jethro, Mario, and Arnold figure as the central characters in Limited Edition, story by Bernard Umali, screenplay by John Fontanos, and directed by Jill Singson Urdaneta.
With Pinoy Boys Love dramas such as Gameboys, Gaya Sa Pelikula, and Hello Stranger winning big in the recently concluded Brazil's 2021 Central Boys Love Awards.
Gameboys, the first Philippine BL series, bagged four awards: Actor of the Year (Elijah Canlas), Actress of the Year (Adrianna So), Couple of the Year (Cairo and Gavreel), and Cast of the Year.
Meanwhile, Gaya Sa Pelikula took home three awards, which are the Best Onscreen Kiss Award (Karl and Vlad), Revelation of the Year (Ian Pangilinan), and Surprise of the Year. Tony Labrusca won Hottie of the Year for Hello Stranger.
There is no doubt that the forthcoming Urdaneta-directed romantic, which offers a different kind of love drama will be a welcome addition to this top-tier list.
“Loving is a process. It is not just a destiny, it is a journey,” begins director Urdaneta. “I think everyone can relate to this story. The process of love and loving, of being loved and in love, your many discoveries about yourself, your insecurities, your maturity, and your willingness to compromise and sacrifice, to make your relationship work because you are truly, deeply in love, all these and more, you will see, feel and experience in this BL romantic drama.”
Andrew Gan is Jethro: “He is goal-driven, ambitious and his life is currently in topsy-turvy because of a domestic problem. The most challenging part about being him is how to feel like him, live in his shoes, and give justice to that feeling of falling in love with another young man. I want to be truthful lalo na pag naramdaman na niya na he is in love with Mario.”
His romantic partner is Jomari Angeles. Gan declares: “Jomari is a very good actor and I am lucky that he plays my love interest. You know, the basic principle in acting is to react to your partner. And it becomes easier and more fulfilling to do if you have an Angeles doing the scene with you.”
What Angeles promises about his character: “For sure, those who consider themselves as hopeless romantics will relate to him. He is a little conservative. I should say he is a major pabebe. I think his major strengths are he is very loving and industrious.”
For Angeles and Gan, portraying Mario and Jethro are their biggest roles to date.
Ron Angeles becomes the official third angle in this BL love triangle as Arnold.
