Understanding the Japanese’ style of fighting has now prepared the 27-year-old Adiwang in his coming clash with replacement fighter Namiki Kawahara.

“I need to have a good game plan and finish this with a KO, a submission or a good decision. Hindi kasi basta-basta ang kalaban ko,” said Adiwang on Zoom.

Adiwang was supposed to be going up against Mongolian bet Hexigetu, also known as the “Wolf of the Grasslands,” when he steps inside the cage for one of the undercard of ONE: Unbreakable.

But, Hexigetu won’t be available for  the fight that is slated  at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, Jan. 22.

Coach Mark Sangiao said that with Adiwang on his second training day in Singapore, it will not be difficult for him to adjust against a taller rival.

“Mas matangkad at mas payat ito. At mahihirapan mag-adjust dahil 9-day notice lang kasi siya,” said Sangiao on Adiwang’s encounter with Kawahara.

Nevertheless, Adiwang won’t be underestimating the  5’7” Kawahara.

That’s because the Japanese are known for the toughness and never-say-die mentality.

“That’s their main weapon,” said Adiwang, who speaks from experience.

Last November, Adiwang took a split decision loss to Hiroshi Minowa following their encounter in Singapore.

In this Friday’s main event,  Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov defends his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship for the first time when the the Russian star meets second-ranked contender Capitan Petchyindee Academy.
