Global act BTS inspires Filipino youth to live with passion and purposeThe long wait is finally over. Global superstars RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, collectively known as BTS, are officially partnering with leading local telco brand Smart Communications for a world-class ad campaign.

Billed ‘Live Smarter, Live with Purpose,’ the telco's banner campaign for 2021 is set to be released in the first quarter of the year. 

In a 30-second announcement video shared by the telco on Facebook, the septet began by saying “Hello, Philippines,” before introducing themselves individually.

“We're here to support Smart's goal to inspire our Filipino fans to live their lives with passion and purpose … no matter the challenges that lie ahead. And with that … we're proud to announce,” RM, the band leader started before his bandmates exclaimed the telco's signature mantra, “Simple, Smart Ako.”

In a statement sent to Manila Standard Entertainment, the telco described the campaign as something that will showcase BTS’ support of Smart’s goal to inspire the Filipino youth to live their lives with passion and purpose. 

“Aside from their remarkable talent, BTS emerged as the biggest band in the world because of their meaningful and uplifting music that brings hope and encouragement to fans especially in the bleakest of times. It is therefore a big honor to welcome BTS to the Smart family so we may inspire more Filipinos to find purpose in everything they do and ultimately live Smarter for a Better World,” said Alfredo S. Panlilio, Smart President and CEO. 

Considered as the world’s biggest band, BTS has become a powerhouse on the global pop scene with a legion of followers among the youth that cuts across geographies and genres.

While 2021 looks promising and even brighter for BTS, 2020 was also considered a banner year for the group. BTS reached no. 1 on Billboard Global 200 and US Billboard Hot 100 with its single “Dynamite,” which music video has amassed almost 800 million views in just five months since its release.

BTS, an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan or “Beyond the Scene,” is a South Korean boyband that has been capturing the hearts of millions of fans globally since their debut in June 2013.

Since its debut in June 2013, the members of the group have been gaining recognition for their authentic and self-produced music, top-notch performances, and the way they interact with their fans. 

The band has established itself as a global music act with breaking countless world records. While imparting a positive influence through activities such as the 'Love Myself” campaign and the UN ‘Speak Yourself’ speech, BTS has mobilized millions of fans across the world (named ARMY), topped prominent music charts, performed multiple sold-out stadium shows across the world and has been named as one of TIME 100: The Most Influential People of 2019.

The act has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the 63rd Grammy Awards and recognized with numerous prestigious awards like the Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. 

Meanwhile, with its partnership with Smart, BTS reinforces its position as one of the global acts known for sending timely messages of comfort and hope to fans everywhere through their music.
