Reusable and sustainable straws have been popular since a few years ago, and more brands are joining the bandwagon.

Ready-to-drink chocolate milk Nestle Chuckie has shifted towards a more eco-friendly alternative with its 100 percent food grade and recyclable paper straws.

Best to consume beverages using paper straws within 15-30 minutes.

For proper use of these straws, Chuckie offers the following tips: (1) when inserting the straw, hold the bottom end of it at an angle and swiftly push it downwards to pierce a hole on the foil seal; (2) avoid jamming the straw through the foil seal as this might dent or bend the straw and lead to faster absorption of liquid, don’t bite it as well; (3) consume milk within 15-30 minutes; (4) push the straw back and dispose the flattened pack to recyclable trash bin.

“Making the most out of paper straws is one perfect example of how our little acts can help create a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable waste-free future,” Nestle Chuckie said in a statement.

It added, “Actively choosing to be more environmentally conscious is something to be proud of, and teaching kids about finding joy in embracing eco-friendly habits is a great lesson best taught at an early age, too.” To teach kids about Nestle Chuckie’s shift to paper straws, check out the printable Chuckie Activity Book in bit.ly/ChuckieActivityBook.
