Rediscovering the PH’s gems

The Department of Tourism (DOT) and its creative agency DDB–Tribal Worldwide Philippines (Tribal DDB) recently released a new video titled “Balikan ang Pilipinas” (Revisit the Philippines).

Rediscovering the PH’s gems

It tells the story of balikbayans who have had the chance to come home to the Philippines during the Holidays and return to familiar places and activities within their regions and provinces (shown here are the Bukidnon Tagolwanen Women Weavers Association and Ibaloi kayabang basket weavers from Atok, Benguet, who are featured in the video).

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said the colorful clip highlights the reopening of the country’s tourism sites with the lifting of the COVID-19 related travel bans, which has allowed visiting Filipinos working and living abroad to experience once again the beauty of the Philippines.

“This is the chance for them to create new memories while visiting destinations that are now open and safe for tourists.” Puyat explained. Directed by Sheron Dayoc, the video uses the hit song “Mundo” of rock band IV of Spades, which, this time, was performed by The Loboc Children’s Choir and Filipino indie rock band Ciudad’s vocalist Mikey Amistoso.
