PAL, Cebu Pacific launch promo fares

The country’s two largest airlines on Wednesday announced promo offerings to spur domestic and international travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cebu Pacific announced a piso fare promo for all domestic and international destinations from Dec. 10 to 12. The travel period is from Aug. 1 to Nov. 30, 2021.

“A lot of us are looking forward to experiencing the wonders of travel again, especially now that we are seeing more domestic destinations reopen its doors for tourists,” Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and customer experience Candice Iyog said.

“We firmly believe the holiday season is the perfect time to share this gift with everyJuan,” she said.

The airline also encouraged guests to use their travel funds to book new flights. Online payments will be accepted on all three days, while payment center options will be made available starting the second day.

Cebu Pacific recently piloted its “Test Before Boarding” process for passengers flying direct from Manila to General Santos City for a two-week trial period until Dec. 14, 2020.

Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines teamed up with Guide to the Philippines, an online travel platform. to offer affordable Boracay travel package.

The special offer, which runs from Dec. 4 to 31, provides travelers with a three-day, two-night stay in Boracay for as low as P8,555 per person based on a twin-occupancy room. 

This includes a roundtrip economy all-in fare to Caticlan from Manila, transfers and hotel accommodation.

The “Easy Escapes” promotion aims to revive inter-island leisure travel through safe, affordable one-stop-shop travel packages.

The offering, accredited by the Department of Tourism, supports the government’s efforts to promote safe traveling under the current new normal conditions to help boost Philippine tourism and sustain the livelihood of Filipino tourist businesses and communities.

Travel period is from Dec. 11, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

As required by the local government of Boracay, travelers should present a negative RT-PCR test result taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in the island.
