Christmas shopping starts now

This holiday season is expected to look quite different from the past several years. Parties and get-togethers are scheduled to be held on Zoom, Christmas caroling is limited to ages 18 to 65, and the usual busy streets and jam-packed establishments are less busy and less jam-packed.

Things may look different, but the essence of the season is still there.

Finding gifts for loved ones or for ourselves (because we deserve it, what with everything we’re going through) is still a huge part of the holidays, and Rustan’s understands it.

“This pandemic has taught us to value our family and loved ones,” SSI Group president Anton Hung said during Rustan’s Christmas media get-together held via Zoom to launch this year’s theme: “Home for Christmas.”

To help keep the tradition of giving this season, the leading department store offers shopping services that allow customers to tick off everything on their Christmas gift list while staying safe.

“We continue to build confidence of Filipinos to shop with us by implementing procedures to ensure customers’ and employees’ (their very own frontliners) safety,” said Huang.

Available starting October 24, Rustan’s Personal Shopper On Call lets customers outsource their shopping needs to a personal shopper. Every single step can be done online, including payment, while free delivery is offered for a minimum purchase.

To get in touch with a personal shopper, call 0917-111-1952. The service is available during mall hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. According to Huang, orders can be ready for delivery as soon as they are wrapped.

“If we can deliver within the day, we’ll do. If not, next day. We have our own delivery service.”

Those who prefer to do their shopping personally, but with a little help, Rustan’s has assisted shopping service, also available on October 24. Those availing of this service, can head to the department store and choose from items their personal shopper has pre-selected for them.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Gift Registry is available to help customers—kids and adults alike—formulate a list which they can send to their loved ones. The personal shopper on call can also help navigate the gift registry to help ninongs and ninangs get their inaanaks’ gifts.

Those who prefer to shop online may do so 24/7 at www.Rustans.com, which launches new selections on a weekly basis. Customers can also ask for their gifts to be wrapped in Rustan’s holiday wrappers prior to delivery.

“Rustans.com was launched last year, it’s still somewhat in infancy but growth has been exponential since the beginning of the pandemic,” said Huang.

Rustans.com will host the Home for Christmas Virtual Microsite—where customers can view all holiday content, including videos of performances, yuletide decorating tips, gift suggestions, and schedules of all upcoming in-store and online activities.

Since kids cannot sit on Santa’s lap this year, the department store brings Santa to them.

The Santa-on-Call program connects St. Nick and his elves with children via Zoom for storytelling and one-on-one sessions. All they have to do is register to catch Santa and share the spirit of Christmas.

Children can also write letters to Santa at hellosanta@rustans.com to send him their top three Christmas wishes. Rustan’s will choose three lucky letters to grant one gift for each kid, which will be delivered to their home address.
