The Philippine unit of Japan-based Honda will be launching two new models this month to encourage consumers to spend for mobility and convenience well ahead of the holiday rush.

Honda puts on a brave front, sets twin launches

Honda Cars Philippines vice president for sales Louie Soriano said the two launches are expected to boost October sales, shrugging off a lethargic market reeling from the impact of the virus pandemic.

“So, with the new launch that we’re going to do this October, perhaps that’s going to help us achieve our target for the rest of the year,” he said during the virtual celebration of Honda Philippines 15th anniversary Thursday.

“We are going to make sure that the market is going to be excited about it. So basically, at this moment, we are studying the market, and based on that demand, based on the needs of the market we’re going to introduce a model that would cater to the needs of the market,” he said.

Soriano noted that the industry has not been performing very well, because of the pandemic.

“In fact, the latest data would show that the industry has only performed about 40 percent performance. And basically we are above that performance as of September,” he said.

The 15th anniversary celebration is a expression of gratitude to Honda stakeholders, not only to the customer, but also to all those who are part of Honda that like the community, the associates, our dealers and others, Soriano said.

Honda prepared a special discount for customers this month of October, a sales and after-sales promo blitz.

The brand encouraged all customers to go back to and stay connected with Honda – update their personal and vehicle information to get a chance to win a Honda Brio.

In terms of sales, Honda has already slashed sales projection significantly as it aligned sales with that of the industry.

The automotive industry reduced sales forecast by 35 percent to 240,000 because of the crisis. However, Honda is positive the industry will overcome the 2020 crisis in no time at all.

Honda remains optimistic to hit another milestone sales soon after the record breaking sales of 31,000 in 2015.

“Honda has always been there to overcome this crisis. I think we are very confident that we’re going to overcome this crisis of 2020,” Soriano said.
