RCBC Bankard gives its cardholders the opportunity to help out school children in need of tablets for online classes through its rewards donation drive.

The credit card-arm of the Yuchengco-led Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. said cardholders can donate their credit card points starting at 800 rewards points.

When pooled, these will be able to provide school tablets for underprivileged children who are coping with distance learning.

The children beneficiaries were identified by RCBC Bankard’s partner non-governmental organizations, namely the Alfonso Yuchengco Foundation (AY Foundation) and Gawad Kalinga.

They include high school and indigent students of Upskills+ Foundation in Tondo and Navotas as well as those part of the #WalangIwanan program.

The rewards donation drive is a timely initiative to help students eager to continue their education but are without the means to do so.

The rewards donation drive, which began Aug. 19, will run until Nov. 30 this year.

Donations have since reached 1,258,300 rewards points, enabling the bank to provide 280 school tablets as of Sept. 3.

For those who want to donate to the cause, cardholders need only to fill out a donation form at https://forms.rcbcbankard.com/donate-tablets/ and choose a rewards partner beneficiary. The donation through the rewards redemption feature will then be processed within five working days, with the bank sending the cardholders an SMS confirming the donation.

Cardholders can also check their available rewards points by logging in to the RCBC Online Banking App.
