Quarantine life’s ‘Coolest Hub’

With so much time on hand, especially that nobody knows how long our country will stay in quarantine, perhaps this pandemic is the perfect time to pursue a new hobby or rediscover an old activity to keep ourselves busy.

If you’re on the hunt to find new diversion to pass the time, in a productive way, of course, Cool Hub can serve as your inspiration on what to do while at home or while in self-isolation.

The new GMA Artist Center show, which premieres tomorrow, is hosted by Yasser Marta, Myrtle Sarrosa, Manolo Pedrosa, and Ayra Mariano. The online program, produced right in their respective homes, features the different collections of the stars.

“Cool Hub is all about collections and hobbies, it’s an infotainment show that caters to younger audiences and kids at heart. With celebrity guests, we feature arts and crafts, different hobbies, including health and lifestyle,” Ayra told Manila Standard Entertainment in a video interview.

Cool Hub is the latest addition to the growing numbers of GMA Network’s online shows.

For Manolo, who shared that he has already read 43 books—a hobby he picked up only this quarantine—the show is a collaborative program that features four different hosts with different personalities and interests.

“We were chosen to be part of the show not just to be its hosts, we get to share our interests as well with our guests and that makes it more interactive. My new hobby will also be featured in Cool Hub, and it’s so exciting, it’s like we are letting the audience into our little world, and somehow we can inspire them with our respective feature,” Manolo shared.

The young actor further said that the show was inspired by another GMA digital program, I Know Right/IKR, where the topics are suggested by the hosts.

“That’s how we get involved, we suggest topics that we want to discuss in the episode that we’re going to do. So, there’s a personal touch because we get to pick the topics we want to showcase in the show,” Yasser said.

Cool Hub is among the shows that will premiere on GMA Artist Center’s newly-launched YouTube channel.

‘Pepito Manaloto’ returns

Viewers can get excited as the beloved family of Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay Na Kuwento airs a very special comeback episode to thank its loyal fans and viewers for their unwavering support. The episode airs on Saturday.

“The cast and I are all very excited! We have a lot of quarantine stories we would love to share with our audience,” the show’s creative director and concept creator, Michael V., shared. “This Saturday’s episode is a good way to start the “new normal” for our show.”

The multi-awarded comedian added how new and different this experience was for all of them, “Shooting from home is a very different experience. There’s a lot of discipline involved. You gain a new appreciation for the crew during times like these.”

The episode will also feature an amusing catch-up segment where the cast members will showcase the skills and talents they have learned during quarantine; “Pipito Para Manalo,” an intriguing mystery object game; and “Bring It Tommy”, a new spin on a classic game.
