Alternate livelihood for Baliwag trike drivers

SM City Baliwag and Baliwag Municipal Government have recently partnered to help, support and create alternative livelihood to at least 80 tricycle drivers whose work have been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

SM City Baliwag, in partnership with the Baliwag Municipal Government, provided alternative livelihood to at least 80 tricycle drivers mostly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the city’s new normal, the Bulacan 3 Wheels On-the-Go program is a delivery service created by the Municipal Government of Baliwag that allows residents to buy food without the need to leave their homes.

Under the program, Bulacan 3 Wheels On-the-Go will be hiring local tricycle drivers to become city’s partner delivery riders. Prior operations, each riders were provided with proper orientation. They are entitled to good and flexible working hours, as well as protective gears and uniforms.

To place an order, customers may call Baliwag Delivery Services hotlines by cluster. Each customers will be given assigned partner delivery rider to purchase orders at chosen stores in SM City Baliwag. Orders will be delivered right at the doorstep. Payments are made through Cash on Delivery. 

Because of the growing demand for food delivery, tricycle drivers benefitted from the bulk orders generated from SM City Baliwag. Each tricycle drivers gets P100.00 for every delivery service transactions.

“Bulacan 3 Wheels On-the-Go is one of the many ways SM City Baliwag support the community” says SM City Baliwag Mall Manager Rodora Tolentino. She also added that the program helps people to practice the new norm.

At present, at least 130 tricycle drivers in Baliwag are targeted to join the program while community quarantine is on going.

With the success of the program, SM Center Pulilan in partnership with the Municipal Government will likewise adopt the Bulacan 3 Wheels On-the-Go to help the tricycle drivers in the community. 

Baliwag Delivery Services hotlines- Cluster 1 (0977-246-5137); Cluster 2 (0977-246-5135); Cluster 3 (0977-246-5136). Delivery service is open from 8am-8pm, and orders must be made one day before delivery date. Purchase allowed are minimum of P300.00 and maximum of P2, 000.00.
