Parañaque City lifts liquor ban

The Parañaque City government announced on Sunday it has lifted the ban on the selling of liquor in the city.

In his Executive Order No. 2020-041, Mayor Edwin Olivarez ordered the lifting of the suspension of permit to sell liquor beginning today (Monday), when Metro Manila will be placed under the general community quarantine.

“The continued ban on alcoholic beverages contributes to the decline of the country’s economy where several workers face displacement from the possible closure of liquor companies due to business reverses,” Olivarez said.

He, however, said selling of alcoholic drinks and beverages will only be allowed during the operating hours of establishments.
