No kissing scenes for Rhian during ‘new normal’

Once GMA-7 officially decides to resume taping for its soap operas, which were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rhian Ramos says she will be very careful and cautious.

The actress, who is part of Love of My Life, a series that also stars Carla Abellana, Mikael Daez, and Coney Reyes, plans on avoiding kissing scenes most especially if her co-star hasn’t undergone COVID-19 test yet.

For the time being, Rhian Ramos will decline to do any kissing scenes or sequences that require her to be in close contact with her co-actor.

“I think, for a while, I won’t allow any kissing scenes at all. If there happens to be scenes where you have to touch your fellow stars’ face, be sure that there’s an abundant supply of alcohol on the set. Then, when you’re done doing the scene and you’ll get back to the tent and you’ll have to talk to someone, most probably, I’ll be wearing a face mask. Actually, I already bought a bunch of them,” Rhian explains.

Apart from not locking lips onscreen and observing hygienic practices on the set, the Kapuso star will refrain from taking selfie shots with other people, too.

“It’s a way of observing social distancing. Actually, I just noticed of late, because we’re always in face masks and have bigger things on our mind, I haven’t taken a single photo with anyone for once. I just think that if everyone is worried about getting close to another person and always wear a mask, I don’t see photos in my near future,” she points out.

Rhian admits she missed her old work routine. She missed a lot of people and things in general.

“I miss the feeling of being busy. As in one day you’re here on this set and tomorrow, you’ll change location. Although at this point, it would be difficult to gather a lot of people on the set,” she says.

“Normally, there are about 300 on one set at a time and we’re such a big group so, I can’t imagine it now. But I believe that in the longer term, everything will be back. After the pandemic, things will be normal once again,” she adds.

Asked what she misses on the set of Love of My Life, Rhian reveals that she can’t wait to see the people she’s working with and get reunited with the production team.

“Sometimes, we message one another in Viber or Instagram. We ask how everybody’s doing. There’s also my glam team whom I love so much. I’m close to them since they’re like your best friends,” she shares.

As of now, the Kapuso network airs the remake of Stairway to Heaven, her hit 2009 project opposite Dingdong Dantes.

“I think it’s a good idea to bring it back. People can watch it over again. I’m thankful that GMA chose it as one of the programs which will have a rerun,” ends Rhian.

In a recent Facebook Live session, Vice Ganda admitted his elation over his present relationship with Ion Perez.

“I can really feel it in my heart,” he said. “With everything I’ve gone through in the name of love, all the deception and heartaches I experienced in the past, I can say it’s much different now. This is a phase in your love life where you’ve already found the one and is not looking for anyone else.”

Interestingly, does he and Ion have misunderstandings?

“Not that often but yes, we also have some tiffs. They’re not serious though. If caught in that situation, we just don’t talk initially. But after a few minutes, we’ll say sorry then we’re okay again,” Vice Ganda reveals.

“We’re not the type who would prolong petty quarrels. Personally, I don’t like to let a night pass with the problem unsolved. Before sleeping, it should have been settled.  I hate to wake up in the morning feeling angry with someone especially the one you love. How can you be productive at work if you’re in that situation, right?” the TV host carries on.

According to the phenomenal box-office star, one key factor to a successful relationship is respecting each other’s space.

“It’s not a good practice to keep on nagging our loved one especially when he is already irritated. If you want to talk things over yet he still refuses, then respect his request. Anyway, when he’s ready, he will start talking. Insisting what you want will just aggravate the situation. Giving each other space is very important,” Vice states.
