A team of industrial designers, chemists and engineers from the University of the Philippines (UP) colleges of fine arts, science and engineering, are burning the midnight oil to come up with an affordable, easy-to-build sanitation tent for public spaces, to battle the threat of covid-19 in the country.

Describing themselves “a team of UP Diliman students and alumni”, the group announced on various social media sites this week that the sanitation tent can be used at hospital entrances, railway stations, bus stops, offices, grocery stores and public markets, among others.

In their facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts, they promised that once the design is finalized, it will be made  available to the public, specifically to all local government units (LGUs) and institutions, free of charge.

LGUs are requested to visit [tinyurl.com/covidsanitationtent] to be added to the team’s database for faster coordination. The team can likewise be contacted at covidsanitationtents@gmail.com
