DAR sets ARB summit Mar. 5 for farmers

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—The Department of Agrarian Reform is set to conduct the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ Summit in Solano town.

The ARB Summit set on March 5 at the Malabing Valley Multi-Purpose Cooperative Convention Center is expected to be graced by Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones.

Jimmy Sampaga, senior Agrarian Reform Program officer said the ARB Summit will also be highlighted with the distribution of various farm inputs worth more than P2.7 million.

“We are assisting 80 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) through our programs to help them to become more productive,” he said.

The farm inputs such as organic and commercial fertilizers, hybrid rice seeds and insecticides, among others will be given through the agency’s Support to ARBs Affected by Rice Importation (SARI) Program.

Farm machineries such as small tractors, among others will also be given to the farmer-members of the ARBs through the DAR’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program.

The farm inputs will be given to the rice producing ARBOs of the province such as Lower Addauan Irrigators’ Credit Cooperative and Magapuy MPC in Bayombong; Villaverde Dev’t Cooperative in Villaverde; Bantian Señora Falls-Maddiangat Irrigators’ Association in Quezon, Bangaan Rural Workers Association, Inc. in Solano, Paniki Community Credit Cooperative in Bagabag, Munguia MPC in Dupax del Norte, Aritao Irrigation MPC and Maria Mangayang Allauan Irrigators Association Inc. in Dupax del Sur, among others.
