Balanga City—Tech giant Huawei wants to set up an Information and Communications Technology Academy at the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) here.

BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Dr. Hermogenes Paguia said two officials of the ICT company recently visited them and discussed the establishment of the Academy.

Huawei Channel Service Manager for Enterprise Marketing & Service Department Lim Seow Boon introduced the concept of the academy to the BPSU deans, adding it provides students with hands-on training in the latest technology, Paguia said.

He said Boon explained Huawei teams up with universities to bridge the talent gap and close the distance between ICT theories and application.

The ICT Academy would have college-enterprise cooperation, course designed for colleges, and learning schemes that would meet industry requirements and the program plan of the university, Boon said.
