In the last week of the biggest teleserye of 2019, Rhian (Angel) finds herself desperately seeking justice and stopping Tiago (Tirso Cruz III) from gaining absolute political power.
A staunch believer in violence, Tiago intends to kill thousands of innocent lives to fulfill his long-time dream of destroying the army and the government and leading the country. With a detailed and deadly strategy to achieve this, he uses his mole Cinco (Mercedes Cabral), who poses as an aspiring senate president who detests terrorists.
But time is running out for Rhian, Franco (Paulo Avelino), and her father Marcial (Albert Martinez), who are currently at large and being hunted by the authorities.
While Corazon (Eula Valdez) is worrying about the safety of her husband and daughter, Amelia (Janice De Belen) has resolutely decided to leave Tiago to get away and start a new life with their son.
Since The General’s Daughter premiered in January, viewers have unwaveringly watched and supported the series, which has consistently topped nationwide ratings, earned praises for the performances of its all-star cast, and generated discussions on social media.
Some of the most talked-about moments from the series include Angel’s thrilling scenes where she did her own stunts, her character Rhian uncovering the truth about her real identity as Arabella, and the deaths of Elai (Arjo Atayde) and Sabel (Maricel Soriano) in the hands of Tiago.
Meanwhile, viewers nationwide prefer to catch relevant news and inspiring TV series on ABS-CBN as the network registered an average audience share of 45 percent, or 14 points higher than GMA’s 31 percent, based on data from Kantar Media.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, (34.9 percent) which celebrates its fourth year on television, continued to top the chart of most-watched programs of Filipinos nationwide.
The hit reality singing TV competition The Voice Kids (34.2 percent) emerged as the preferred TV show on weekends by viewers, while the action-drama The General’s Daughter (32.2 percent) kept its grip on the list of most watched shows for its adrenaline-fueled scenes.
Also completing the roster of most-watched shows in September are the Kapamilya network’s weekday and weekend programs, including Wansapanataym (30.6 percent), Parasite Island(30.4 percent), Maalaala Mo Kaya, (29.2 percent), TV Patrol (27.6 percent), Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet (25.8 percent), and Rated K: Handa Na Ba Kayo? (23.7 percent).
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN also won all-time blocks in September, asserting its lead in primetime (6:00 p.m. to 12:00 mn) where it recorded 47 percent share, versus GMA’s 33 percent; in the afternoon block (3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) with 48 percent, compared to GMA’s 32 percent; in the noontime block (12:00 nn to 3:00 p.m.) with 48 percent, versus GMA’s 29 percent, and in the morning block (6:00 a.m. to 12:00 nn) with 37 percent, in contrast to GMA’s 29 percent.
Likewise, the Kapamilya network also emerged triumphant again Metro Manila as it registered 41 percent share, beating GMA’s 25 percent. In Mega Manila, ABS-CBN registered 36 percent, while GMA got 32 percent.
In Total Luzon, ABS-CBN earned 41 percent, versus GMA’s 34 percent. It also won in Total Visayas with 57 percent, beating GMA’s 24 percent, as well as in Total Mindanao with 51percent, trailing GMA’s 28 percent.
Multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100 percent of the total Philippine TV viewing population.
