Ang Misyon believes that social change is sparked through the learning of orchestral music. The Orchestra of the Filipino Youth consists of young music scholars, majority of which come from less privileged families and were hand-picked based on talent, passion and need.
Ang Misyon wrapped the year 2018 with international performances including Qatar National Library, Katara Opera House and local events at Robinsons Galleria, Power Plant Mall and at the Qatar National Day in Makati Shangri-La.
The mission continues as the OFY kicks off 2019 on a high note with its first concert of the year at Sun Life Amphitheater today. The concert is free admission.
Joining the OFY will be the Apprentice Orchestra, another promising group of young musicians in the music program of Ang Misyon.
Conducted by Joshua Dos Santos, OFY’s Music Director, expect a wonderful pre-Valentine treat with a repertoire of classical music including pieces from Tchaikovsky and Wagner plus a timeless Filipino favorite National Artist Ryan Cayabyab.
Musika at Misyon aims to bring to life what Ang Misyon continues to nurture in the scholars through its programs. It looks forward to another eventful year with its young musicians and remains steadfast in its mission to uplift the lives of the youth.
Ang Misyon was founded in 2012 by First Philippines Holdings Chairman Federico R. Lopez, ABS CBN Chairman Emeritus Eugenio Lopez III, and concert pianist Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz.
