Makati allots P 44M for free movies to seniors, PDWs

The city government of Makati has alloted forty-four (44) million pesos for the entertainment of senior citizens and person with disabilities (PWDs) in Makati City.

The amount will be paid to commercial establishments so that senior citizens and PWDs can freely watch movies in selected theaters.

The local government has sealed an agreement with five malls in the city.

This is through Makati Mayor Abigail Binay and Makati City Hall Accounting Department Officer in Charge (OIC) William Dayrit.

Makati City has about 80,000 senior citizens.

PWDs in the city number to around 7,000.

The local government is urging all establishments to ensure that they are accessible to senior citizens and PWDs.

This is by installing appropriate ramps and reserving parking spaces for the senior citizens and PWDs.
