Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre claims, there has been an attempt to bribe the high-profile of New Bilibid Prison (NBP) to retract their testimonies against Senator Leila De Lima.

NBP inmates, who are detained at the Armed Forces Custodial Center in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, were reportedly offered the bribe yesterday (February 22, 2017).

This was supposedly in exchange for their withdrawal of their testimonies that De Lima was involved in the illegal drug trade in NBP.

The bribe offer reportedly amounted to P 100-million for all the inmates.

The prisoners reportedly refused.

The same bribe was reportedly offered again on Thursday morning.

It was supposedly made by a former senator whom Aguirre did not name.

The bribe offer was allegedly relayed to the inmates by a fellow prioner, convicted police officer Clarence Dongail.

De Lima faces three drug cases at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court.
