Senator Leila De Lima will travel to the United States and Germany.

She said she is set to receive an award in the United States and speak at an annual conference on cultural diplomacy in Berlin.

In a statement, she said, “I will have the chance to speak with influential leaders and global thinkers on raising awareness on human rights, which I am very passionate about.”

She also added that she hopes her enemies will not miss her.

“There is nothing to worry about as I will surely return. I hope my brief visits will provide a welcome relief to my detractors and critics. I will keep them in mind though,” she said.

For its part, the Department of Justice says, De Lima may travel abroad.

It has issued an "Allow Departure Order" to the Bureau of Immigration for this purpose.
