Ashoka Philippines welcomed HIV advocate Laurindo Garcia into its global network of social entrepreneurs at the Ashoka Fellow Launch and Induction Ceremony at The Globe Tower.

As the newest Ashoka Fellow, Laurindo Garcia will develop a mobile/web application which allows users to rate the attitudes of businesses and institutions toward LGBT people and people living with HIV.

In doing so, Laurindo hopes to promote a culture of acceptance across all sectors of society for marginalized communities worldwide. Laurindo is the latest to join a network of over 3,500 Ashoka Fellows in over 80 countries who have developed unique solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. Moving forward, Ashoka hopes to continue finding local innovators in the Philippines whose ideas can lead both the country and the global community toward a better future. philippines.ashoka.org/
