Eldridge Policarpio had been meaning to wed his partner of 10 years, Richelle Favor, since 2019. But the pandemic happened.

SEALED WITH A KISS. Eldridge Policarpio and Richelle Favor on Sept. 26 finally got the wedding they dreamed of and planned for but was postponed because of the pandemic.

The situation and ensuing restrictions had forced them to hold off the ceremony.

“Magpapakasal na dapat kami ng partner ko na si Richelle, kaso nga lang hindi natuloy dahil sa pandemic (My partner Richelle and I were supposed to get married, but it didn’t push through because of the pandemic),” related Policarpio.

The couple decided to tie the knot in 2020 in a civil wedding plus a small ceremony for which they saved money.

But when total lockdown was enforced in March, the couple had no choice but to use the budget they allocated for the wedding for their family’s needs.

Even though Eldridge is a frontline worker – a delivery rider – Richelle shared the protocols for her now husband’s operations had not been cleared up in the first two or more weeks of the quarantine, hence, “hindi siya nakakabiyahe noon (he was not to able to go back on the road to work)”.

“Yung naipon namin, naubos, nagastos (We used all the money we saved up),” lamented Richelle.

Over the course of the last two years, the couple kept an eye out for the opportune moment to finally get married, only for it to be consistently pushed back.

When Grab caught wind of the couple’s situation, Eldridge is one of their delivery-partners, through an inquiry posted on their group (about occasions that were postponed because of the pandemic), the delivery platform helped make their dream wedding happen.

On Sept. 26, the couple’s young son and a few of their immediate family members witnessed Eldridge and Richelle tie the knot in a quaint venue filled with flower arrangements and decorations created by Flowers by Ginger.

Food and beverage was taken care of by TGIFridays, Scout’s Honor, and Ram’s House of Wine. The wedding cake was provided by Celebration Cakes by Mary Grace. Their guests took home special tokens from The Humble Market, Dean & DeLuca, and Wildflour Pantry.

All sponsors are partner merchants of Grab.

Nearly all supplies for the celebration were delivered by GrabFood and GrabMart.

“Kaya rin pala ni Grab ibigay ang mga simpleng pangarap ng isang taong kagaya namin… September 26, Sunday… memorable talaga ito sakin – kasama si Grab. (These simple dreams of people like us are also possible with Grab… September 26, Sunday will be very memorable to me — as a day we celebrated with Grab)” enthused Mrs. Favor-Policarpio, who looked radiant in her princess cut wedding gown.

Prior to the ceremony, the couple had their civil wedding on Sept. 10 in Angono.
