There’s no limit to a person’s imagination, especially for those who turn their ideas into reality.

Winston Jr. S. Abapo, fondly known as Winsty, is a 25-year-old artist who draws inspiration from his dreams. Yet besides leaning towards his innate creativity, Abapo also has an affinity for vintage and surreal elements.

Hermaphroditus. Life is full of ironies, isn’t it? One must get hurt to heal, struggle to bloom, and suffer to live. As if we must marry the pain to live happily ever after. Despite this, I will welcome it with open arms. I will kiss it hard and give it all that it wants for I know it all to be worth it.

“I love the vintage-styled hair of women, especially how they wear old-fashioned garments. And I also love dreaming of things or places I want to see, like surreal vibes, putting some bubbles, and associating them with deeply personal meanings. I begin with an idea of my feeling, finding the things I want to be while dreaming, and then painting it,” he said.

As an artist, Abapo hopes to have his own solo exhibit in the future, featuring pieces he’s genuinely happy with and proud of. “The idea of my solo exhibit is to share that it's okay to feel sad, empty, lonely, and make mistakes as long as you learn good things from it and love yourself more. I want to have my own business using my art,” the young artist said.

Moreover, Abapo also has another goal of owning a coffee studio where he can serve signature coffee and host several art exhibits.
