Fitness trackers just got a whole lot smarter with the launch of Fitbit Versa 2, an update of the brand’s bestselling smartwatch which is now voice-enabled and packed with more advanced health and lifestyle features.

Leading fitness tracker brand Fitbit adds a new member to its growing wearables family—the first on-device microphone-enabled Versa 2.

Equipped with Fitbit’s first on-device microphone, Versa 2 is the first smartwatch from the wearable brand with Alexa Built-in.

With just a press of a button, users can speak into the microphone and ask for Alexa’s help to set alarms and timers, check the local weather and news, start a Fitbit Exercise, find the nearest gym, control smart home devices, and more.

Alexa responds to voice commands on Versa 2 with discreet, silent on-screen text responses—so you can keep the conversation between you two.

Joining Alexa, Fitbit is also bringing the Spotify app experience to Versa 2, allowing Spotify Premium subscribers to control playback, change playlists, like songs, and switch music output on-the-go.

Making life simpler and easier, the smartwatch comes with more smart features like notifications that let wearers view notifications. Android phone users get more as they can use  Versa 2’s on-device microphone to reply to texts and notifications.

Proving to be a valuable companion day in and out, the updated Versa smartwatch now comes with more on-device sleep features.

Sleep Score provides insights into the wearer’s sleep quality based on heart rate, restlessness, time awake, and Sleep Stages. Smart Wake, which will be available to all Fitbit smartwatches, uses machine learning to wake wearers during an optimal time of their sleep cycle while in light or REM sleep, based on a pre-selected 30-minute interval.

Sleep Mode, on the other hand, disables screen display and silences notifications for a night free of disturbances. It can also be used anytime you don’t want to be interrupted.

Also coming soon, the Estimated Oxygen Variation Graph provides users with an estimate of the variability of oxygen levels in their bloodstream, which may indicate variations in breathing during sleep.

“Building on the success of our original bestselling Versa smartwatch, we believe the added value and innovation in Versa 2 with new features like Alexa, Spotify app, and advanced in-app and on-device sleep features will bring more users into the smartwatch category, allowing them to unlock the benefits of better health,” said James Park, co-founder and chief executive officer of Fitbit.

It is powered by a faster processor for better performance and features a one-button design, larger AMOLED display, and 5+ days battery life.
