Following the success of its first Philippine branch in Bonifacio Global City, international co-working space company WeWork opens its second location in RCBC Plaza along Ayala Avenue in Makati City.

Co-working space opens in RCBC Plaza
WeWork opens its second Philippine location in RCBC Plaza along Ayala Avenue in Makati.

“Our Makati CBD location is testament to our commitment to supporting local companies to be able to tap onto our global network,” said WeWork Southeast Asia managing director Turochas “T” Fuad.

He continued, “Through culture, design, collaboration, and technology, we are committed to promoting growth and innovation that will enable local enterprises, freelancers, startups, and MSMEs to collaborate locally, regionally and globally.”

In addition to its two locations in Manila, WeWork currently has workspaces in Singapore, Indonesia (Jakarta), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), and Thailand (Bangkok) across Southeast Asia.

WeWork’s second home in the Philippines features its signature elements such as common areas, phone booths, community bars, and breakout areas.

With the space inspired by the streets of Manila, a mural sprawling across the wall by the staircase curated by the company’s in-house arts and graphics team demonstrates an abstract illustration inspired by Panagbenga festival.

To date, WeWork RCBC Plaza houses members ranging from global enterprises—a world leader in connecting job seekers with matching employment opportunities, Monster.com; tech-enabled express logistics company, Ninja Van; world’s fastest-growing social advertising solutions provider, Strike Social—to small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups and freelancers such as FinTech startup Bukas; and renowned supporters of startups like early-stage impact incubator and investor, Villgro Philippines.

“As we are looking for a space that enables us to adapt and scale based on our growth, we were attracted to WeWork as it enables our cross-functional teams to collaborate more effectively with each other. By providing purpose-built environments for our teams, we have seen an uptick in employee satisfaction and productivity,” enthused Ninja Van country head Martin Cu.

Manila Standard

Manila Standard website (manilastandard.net), launched in August 2002, extends the newspaper’s reach beyond its traditional readers and makes its brand of Philippine news and opinion available to a much wider and geographically diverse readership here and overseas.

Digital Edition

In tone and content, the online edition mirrors the editorial thrust of the newspaper. While hewing to the traditional precepts of fairness and objectivity, MS believes the news of the day need not be staid, overly long or dry. Stories are succinct, readable and written in a lively style that has become a hallmark of the newspaper.
