The Hong Kong Tourism Board has chosen rapper and dancer Jackson Wang as the first Hong Kong Tourism Envoy.
Hong Kong-born Wang, a member of South Korean boy group Got7, is tasked to promote the diverse tourist attractions and unique travel experiences in his hometown to visitors worldwide.
“I am honored to be invited by the HKTB to take up this role,” said Wang on his appointment. “As ‘Hong Kong Tourism Envoy’, I can now play a part in promoting my beloved home and birthplace to visitors from around the world.”
The pop idol will be featured in videos and photos to complement the HKTB’s marketing efforts in promoting HK’s diverse travel experiences. As Hong Kong Tourism Envoy, he will introduce visitors to some of the many exciting aspects of the country, including arts, entertainment, sports, outdoor activities, gourmet food, and nightlife.
For his first assignment as tourism envoy, Wang joined HKTB’s International Chinese New Year Night Parade that marched along the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui.
