No limit intimates

Who says fashion has to be gendered? Not this generation’s youth, that’s for sure.

GENDERLESS. The Limitless intimate apparel collection consists of ultra-stretch boxers and tops in gender-neutral silhouettes. From left: Slo Lopez, Simon Guinto, and Reins Mika wear the Limitless intimates.

Majority of 13- to 39-year olds prefer apparel and accessories that can be worn by either male or female, YPulse survey reveals. In this year alone, online searches for gender-neutral apparel have risen by as much as 33 percent.

Diversity is becoming one of the major drivers that reimagines the fashion industry, with more brands offering genderless and unisex pieces and silhouettes to target young consumers. Inclusive and versatile, win-win!

Watchers and analysts say this trend will likely continue as more than two-thirds of young consumers agree that gender roles and labels are outdated.

Intimate apparel is a category long separated by gender labels – we have pieces for male, we have pieces for female – but Avon breaks the barrier with its latest line of intimates made for everyone, regardless of gender, body type, and personality.

“If we can stretch our support in terms of sizes, breast shapes, and life stages, what’s stopping us from stretching support to be inclusive of gender identity?” Avon marketing director Anna Garces said in a statement.

Garces continued, “Avon has been producing high quality, innovative, and affordable creations for Filipinos and Filipinas for decades. It’s only right to expand our years of expertise on intimates to support the needs of all gender identities and sexual orientations.”

Avon launches in the Philippines its first gender-free intimate apparel line, dubbed Limitless, composed of pieces made with breathable, quick-dry materials and a universal fit “so everyone can be who they are”.

The Limitless collection features gender-neutral silhouettes. The Andy 2-in-1 Ultra-stretch boxers come in black and gray, designed with a double layer panel on the crotch area so it can fit anyone with or without an appendage.

On the other hand, the Andy Ultra-stretch Support Top can be used as a minimizer, a moulded bra, or a casual top with removable molded cups and expandable hook and eye, so anyone can sport it with or without busts.

“We want the members of the LGBTQIA+ community to feel seen, supported, and celebrated through the new Limitless collection and know that they too are limitless, hence the name,” Garces enthused. “We believe that every kind of body deserves support that lets them be themselves.”

The Limitless collection is available at avonshop.ph or through Avon representatives.
