Jeweler launches brand made for youth

What do young, discerning jewelry patrons like and would probably like? If we’re basing it on British Vogue-featured gemologist Denise Ching-Tobler’s new brand, they are mostly thin and dainty pieces, box chain necklaces, stackable rings, and stud and hook earrings.

GIA-trained jeweller Denise Ching-Tobler launches a jewelry brand made for younger customers.

Branded as Simply Elegant, the collection aims to bring the same passion, which forged the flamboyant handcrafted pieces Ching-Tobler’s Devaluchi Joaillerie’s brand is known for, to younger patrons.

The result is a delicate array of dainty jewelry pieces thinly crafted in 14-karat to 18-karat gold, accentuated by the timeless elegance of natural melee diamonds.

While Devaluchi Joaillerie showcases a bold, original combination of diamonds and colored stones, Simply Elegant allows the adornment of diamonds to take center stage.

Masterfully created by talented local artisans, it retains Ching-Tobler’s creative philosophy: extraordinary design, quality diamonds, and great craftsmanship. She values quality and honesty above all else, as their policy is full disclosure of the origin of their stones – be it natural diamonds, colored stones, laboratory grown, or simulated ones.

Ching-Tobler sees her new designs as a symbol for young independence, reminiscent of how she  reached for her life-long dream.

“These pieces were made for everyday wear fine jewelry – simple, yet hip and trendy,” she said.

Ever since she was a child, she dreamt to become a fashion and jewelry designer. She formally began her journey in the Fashion Design and Merchandising Program of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. She then refined her skills at the Gemological Laboratory of the Philippines, followed by her training at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Ching-Tobler was able to establish her own jewelry line in 2018. While the world drastically stopped in 2020, blessings came as her creations graced the globally acclaimed glossies of Condé Nast Traveller, Tatler UK, and British Vogue.

Her jewelry pieces are showcased on Instagram @devaluchijoaillerie, and are available at 2/F East Wing Estancia Capitol Commons, Pasig City.
