Bruno Mars unleashes his designer alter ego in first lifestyle brand

“When I’m on stage, my name is Bruno Mars. When I’m making luxurious garments, I go by Ricky Regal,” said the 11-time Grammy winner as he introduced his first lifestyle brand. 

The brand was launched in partnership with Lacoste, which, Mars said, gave him the creative freedom to make it truly his.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have been asked to do collaborations in the past, but it always came with guidelines,” he related. “Lacoste was the first and only brand that said ‘Bruno we want you to make this truly yours.’”

The Ricky Regal x Lacoste collection, available since March 8 at Lacoste Greenbelt 5, consists of ready-to-wear including shorts, polo shirts, T-shirts, pants, slides and socks, and a pair of aviator sunglasses.

To achieve that casual and dressy vibe in a sportswear line, the collection comes in bold colors (mustard yellow, petrol blue, eggplant purple, coral red, and tie-dye) and sophisticated fabrics (velvet, silk, and cotton).

The Ricky Regal x Lacoste collection consists of ready-to-wear pieces made with sophisticated fabrics in bold colors. 

“With Ricky Regal x Lacoste, Bruno has created a luxury sportswear brand that bridges the Lacoste sportswear heritage and his own seductive style,” enthused creative director Louise Trotter. 

Trotter added, “Collaborating with Bruno and entering into his unique world has been a great adventure; he has a very clear vision and is obsessive with every detail. From concept to fittings, there wasn’t a single aspect that he was not fully involved.”
